About

The Winchcombe Archive Collection Trust (WACT) was set up by John Edgeler and his fellow trustees to create a locally accessible collection of pottery by Michael Cardew and his team at Winchcombe Pottery - Ray Finch (who eventually succeeded Cardew), and Sidney Tustin.

“Genius Loci”

John  also wanted furniture, metalwork and textiles that were made in contemporary Cotswold rural craft workshops to be displayed with these pots, to encapsulate the spirit of the place.

As well as being one of the most important collections of Cardew-period Winchcombe Pottery, it has since grown to include work by Robin Tanner, Phyllis Barron and Dorothy Larcher, Katharine Pleydell-Bouverie alongside Cotswold School Furniture.
